Job Brief
As a Registered Radiation Therapist, you will provide high-quality radiation therapy treatments to patients in collaboration with radiation oncologists. You will be responsible for reviewing patient prescriptions, preparing and operating treatment equipment, and ensuring patient safety according to industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of radiation therapy practices, outstanding communication skills, and a commitment to patient care.
Responsibilities
- Administer radiation therapy treatments to patients as directed by the radiation oncologist.
- Review patient treatment plans and medical histories to ensure accurate delivery of radiation therapy.
- Prepare and maintain equipment, including immobilization devices and treatment machines.
- Act as a liaison between patients, physicians, and supportive care staff to facilitate effective communication.
- Document patient treatment sessions, maintaining accurate records, reports, and files.
- Assist in dosimetry procedures and tumor localization as needed.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions during treatment and respond appropriately.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory standards in radiation therapy.
Requirements
- Current certification as a Registered Radiation Therapist (ARRT) or equivalent.
- Associate’s degree in Radiation Therapy or a related field; a Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Proven experience in radiation therapy, with a strong understanding of treatment techniques and technologies.
- Familiarity with dosimetry procedures and tumor localization methods.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to radiation therapy.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
