Job Brief
The Refractory Bricklayer is responsible for laying and binding various building materials, including refractory bricks, concrete blocks, and structural tiles, to construct, repair, and maintain high-temperature furnaces, kilns, and other industrial structures. Responsibilities
- Lay and bind refractory bricks, concrete blocks, and other materials using mortar and adhesives to construct industrial structures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements and layout.
- Measure and cut building materials to precise dimensions for optimal fitting.
- Ensure the structural integrity of walls, arches, and partitions by employing industry-standard masonry techniques.
- Repair and maintain existing structures, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
- Utilize specialized tools and equipment to mix, apply, and finish masonry materials.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Bricklayer or in a similar role within the masonry or construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of masonry techniques, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and specifications.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and lift heavy materials.
- Familiarity with safety practices and regulations relevant to masonry work.
- Relevant certifications or licenses in masonry or building trades are preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
