Job Brief
The Reel System Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the success of combat, reconnaissance, transport, and search and rescue missions. This position requires proficient operation of aircraft communications and detection systems, as well as the ability to conduct thorough inspections of onboard equipment. Ideal candidates will have extensive experience with aircraft weapons, defensive systems, and in-flight refueling systems, along with solid problem-solving skills and a commitment to safety.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain aircraft communications and detection equipment to facilitate mission objectives.
- Establish satellite linkages and manage jamming of enemy communications capabilities.
- Conduct preflight, in-flight, and postflight inspections of onboard equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Operate and maintain aircraft weapons and defensive systems to support mission success.
- Execute aircraft safety and emergency procedures to safeguard personnel and equipment.
- Compute and verify weight and balance data for passengers, cargo, fuel, and special equipment.
- Perform cargo and personnel drops in accordance with mission requirements and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with flight crews to optimize mission planning and execution.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Reel System Operator or in a similar aviation role.
- Understanding of aircraft communications, detection systems, and jamming techniques.
- Certification in aircraft operation and maintenance practices.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Ability to perform detailed inspections and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Experience with in-flight refueling systems and operational procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with flight crews.
