Job Brief
The Railroad Design Consultant plays a crucial role in the planning and design of railway systems and related infrastructure projects. Responsibilities
- Develop detailed engineering plans and specifications for railroad construction projects.
- Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to determine project viability.
- Oversee the construction process to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, geotechnical engineers, and traffic planners.
- Perform quality control inspections and troubleshooting during construction and maintenance phases.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements related to railroad design.
- Manage project timelines and budgets to ensure successful project delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in railroad design, construction, or maintenance.
- Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant tools.
- Strong knowledge of railway engineering standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with stakeholders.
- Ability to travel to project sites as needed for oversight and inspections.
