Job Brief

The Radio Frequency Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of mobile and stationary radio transmitting, broadcasting, and receiving equipment. This role involves working with two-way radio communication systems utilized in cellular telecommunications, mobile broadband, and emergency services. The ideal candidate will have experience in testing and analyzing network coverage, ensuring optimal performance of radio equipment across various platforms, including ship-to-shore and aircraft-to-ground communications.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain radio frequency equipment and systems for reliable communication.
  • Conduct routine inspections and troubleshooting of radio equipment to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Test and analyze network coverage to optimize radio signal strength and performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement communication systems tailored to specific user needs.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users on the effective operation of radio systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and system upgrades.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in radio frequency technology and communication systems.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in electronics, telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Radio Frequency Technician or similar role in telecommunications.
  • Strong knowledge of radio frequency theory, transmission principles, and two-way radio systems.
  • Familiarity with testing equipment and software used for analyzing radio signals and coverage.
  • Relevant certifications in telecommunications or radio frequency technologies (e.g., FCC license, CET certification).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills for providing technical support and training to users.
