As a Race and Sports Book Writer, you will play a crucial role in facilitating wagering on various races and sporting events. Responsibilities
- Post and update information on upcoming races and sporting events to assist patrons in placing wagers.
- Receive, verify, and accurately record patrons’ bets and wagers in a timely manner.
- Operate random number-generating equipment during games such as keno and bingo, announcing results to patrons.
- Scan and process winning tickets, ensuring prompt payment of winnings to patrons.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patron inquiries and assisting with any issues related to wagering.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area, ensuring compliance with gaming regulations and policies.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance the overall patron experience and promote a positive gaming environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in a gaming or customer service role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of various sports, racing, and betting practices.
- Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail for accurately processing bets and payouts.
- Proficient in using betting systems and technology, including ticket scanning tools.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment while maintaining professionalism.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with diverse patrons.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
