Job Brief
As a Public Transit Trolley Driver, you will be responsible for operating trolleys along designated routes, ensuring the safe and timely transportation of passengers. Responsibilities
- Drive trolleys along assigned routes while adhering to scheduled timetables and safety regulations.
- Assist passengers in boarding and alighting, ensuring a comfortable and safe travel experience.
- Collect fares and issue tickets, maintaining accurate financial records.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and operational efficiency.
- Maintain effective communication with dispatch regarding route changes and passenger inquiries.
- Provide assistance to passengers with disabilities or special needs, ensuring compliance with accessibility standards.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and incidents while following established protocols.
- Promote a positive public image of the transit system through professional conduct and customer service.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in transit operations is a plus.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating large passenger vehicles, preferably in a public transit environment.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact positively with diverse populations.
- Familiarity with local traffic laws and transit regulations.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Strong communication skills and the capacity to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
