Job Brief
As a Public School Speech Clinician, you will assess and treat students with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in an educational setting. Your primary responsibilities will include developing individualized treatment plans, implementing evidence-based interventions, and collaborating with educators and parents to promote communication skills. This role requires a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, relevant certifications, and strong interpersonal skills to effectively support diverse student needs.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify speech and language disorders in students.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each student’s needs.
- Utilize evidence-based practices to provide speech and language therapy effectively.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student communication goals.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary.
- Educate students and families on the nature of speech and language disorders and available resources.
- Research and select alternative communication systems to assist students with severe communication impairments.
- Participate in professional development activities to stay updated on best practices in speech-language pathology.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred.
- Experience working with children in a school setting is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of speech and language assessment tools and treatment techniques.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and research in the field.
