Job Brief
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse to provide exceptional care to patients experiencing mental health issues. The Psychiatric Nurse will be responsible for assessing patient health problems, developing individualized nursing care plans, and maintaining accurate medical records. Responsibilities
- Assess patient health problems and needs through comprehensive evaluations and interviews.
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Administer nursing care to patients with mental health disorders, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for each patient, documenting progress and treatment.
- Advise patients on health maintenance, disease prevention, and wellness strategies.
- Provide case management services, coordinating care and resources for patients.
- Monitor and evaluate patient responses to treatment, modifying care plans as necessary.
- Educate patients and families regarding mental health conditions and available treatments.
Requirements
- Current nursing license or registration in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Degree in Nursing (Associate’s or Bachelor’s) from an accredited institution.
- Experience in psychiatric nursing or mental health care preferred.
- Strong assessment, clinical, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction.
- Knowledge of mental health medications and therapeutic interventions.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing (PMH-BC) is an asset.
