Job Brief
The Production Control Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating manufacturing activities to ensure that products are produced according to cost, quality, and quantity specifications. This role demands strong leadership and organizational skills, alongside expertise in production planning, inventory management, and process optimization. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement production schedules that align with customer demand and operational capabilities.
- Monitor and adjust production processes to ensure optimal efficiency and compliance with quality standards.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and quality assurance, to streamline production workflows.
- Analyze production data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Manage inventory levels and oversee material requirements planning to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
- Lead and mentor production control staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the production process.
- Prepare and present reports on production performance, capacity utilization, and resource allocation to senior management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in production control or manufacturing management.
- Strong knowledge of production planning methodologies and inventory management practices.
- Proficiency in production control software and ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to manage teams effectively.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Certifications such as APICS CPIM or Six Sigma Green Belt are a plus.
