The Predator Control Trapper is responsible for effectively managing and controlling wildlife populations through trapping and hunting methods. Responsibilities
- Identify and assess predator populations to determine control measures.
- Utilize various trapping techniques and equipment, including nets and traps, to capture wildlife.
- Monitor and maintain traps to ensure effectiveness and compliance with regulations.
- Document and report on wildlife capture activities and population data.
- Collaborate with landowners and stakeholders to develop effective wildlife management plans.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal wildlife laws and regulations.
- Educate the public on wildlife control practices and conservation efforts.
- Maintain equipment and vehicles used for trapping and transport of animals.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; further education in wildlife management is a plus.
- Proven experience in wildlife trapping, hunting, or animal control.
- Knowledge of local wildlife species and their habitats.
- Strong physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and equipment related to wildlife trapping.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate vehicles for transporting equipment and animals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with stakeholders.
- Certification in wildlife management or trapping is preferred.
