Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Precision Machinist to set up and operate a variety of machine tools for producing high-quality precision parts and instruments from metal. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of mechanical systems, mathematics, and machining procedures. Experience in fabricating, modifying, and repairing mechanical instruments is essential. Proficiency in computer numerically controlled (CNC) equipment is a plus, as our machinists may also engage in CNC programming and operation.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC and conventional machine tools to fabricate precision components.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine machining specifications.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure quality standards and tolerances are met.
- Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting on machines to maintain optimal functionality.
- Utilize measuring instruments to inspect finished products and adjust machining processes as necessary.
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to optimize manufacturing processes.
- Document production processes, including material usage and machining times.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certification or degree preferred.
- Proven experience as a Precision Machinist or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, machining techniques, and metal properties.
- Experience with CNC programming and operation is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in machining.
