Job Brief
The Precast Concrete Ironworker plays a crucial role in the construction industry by raising, placing, and uniting iron or steel girders, columns, and other structural members to create robust frameworks for various structures. Responsibilities
- Raise, place, and secure iron or steel girders and columns to construct structural frameworks.
- Assemble prefabricated metal buildings and erect metal storage tanks according to design specifications.
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate installation of structural components.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and weld materials as required.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and construction teams to ensure project milestones are met.
- Inspect and maintain equipment and tools to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
- Assist in the training and mentorship of junior ironworkers as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an ironworking apprenticeship preferred.
- Proven experience as a Precast Concrete Ironworker or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and practices in construction.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Proficient in using hand tools and power tools relevant to ironworking.
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively.
- Valid certification in welding or related technical skills is a plus.
