Job Brief
As a Powerhouse Electrician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliable operation of electrical systems in generating stations and substations. This position requires extensive experience in the inspection, testing, repair, and maintenance of electrical equipment, including in-service relays. Responsibilities
- Inspect, test, and troubleshoot electrical equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on generators, transformers, and circuit breakers.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Implement safety protocols and adhere to regulatory standards while working in high-voltage environments.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to diagnose electrical issues and recommend solutions.
- Assist in the installation of new electrical systems and equipment as needed.
- Respond promptly to electrical outages and emergencies, coordinating repairs to minimize downtime.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in electrical technology and practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a journeyman electrician preferred.
- Proven experience in electrical maintenance and repair, preferably in a powerhouse or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and blueprints.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in high-voltage environments.
- Ability to operate diagnostic tools and equipment for electrical troubleshooting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
