Job Brief
As a Poultry Pathologist, you will play a critical role in diagnosing, treating, and researching diseases affecting poultry and avian species. Responsibilities
- Diagnose poultry diseases through histopathological examination and laboratory testing.
- Conduct research on avian diseases, developing innovative treatment protocols and preventative measures.
- Collaborate with veterinarians and farm managers to implement disease control strategies.
- Perform necropsies to evaluate and document disease conditions in poultry.
- Stay updated on advancements in poultry health and pathology through continuous education and professional development.
- Provide expert consultations to poultry producers regarding disease management and biosecurity practices.
- Prepare and present scientific findings at conferences and industry meetings.
- Contribute to the development of educational materials for farmers and veterinary professionals.
Requirements
- DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) or equivalent degree, with a specialization in poultry pathology preferred.
- Board certification in veterinary pathology (ACVP or equivalent) is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in avian medicine and poultry health management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration.
- Familiarity with laboratory techniques, including PCR, serology, and histopathology.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to travel for fieldwork and attend industry events as needed.
