Job Brief
As a Post Tensioning Ironworker, you will play a critical role in reinforcing concrete structures by positioning and securing steel bars or mesh within concrete forms. This hands-on position requires proficiency in utilizing various tools, including fasteners, rod-bending machines, blowtorches, and hand tools. Responsibilities
- Position and secure steel reinforcing bars (rebar) or mesh into concrete forms to enhance structural integrity.
- Utilize a variety of hand tools and machinery, such as blowtorches and rod-bending equipment, to shape and install reinforcement materials.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to interpret blueprints and specifications effectively.
- Monitor and maintain safety standards on the job site, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
- Assist in the installation of post-tension cables and systems, ensuring precise tensioning and anchoring.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of tools and equipment used in the reinforcement process.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in construction or engineering preferred.
- Proven experience as an Ironworker, specifically in post-tensioning applications.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Familiarity with industry-standard tools and equipment, including rod-bending machines and blowtorches.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual tasks and lift heavy materials.
- Valid safety certifications (e.g., OSHA) and knowledge of safety protocols.
