Job Brief
The Pole Framer is responsible for constructing, erecting, and maintaining wooden structures, including poles, frames, and supports, in various construction projects. This role requires a solid understanding of carpentry principles, the ability to read blueprints, and proficiency in using hand and power tools. Ideal candidates should have prior experience in framing or woodworking, along with strong attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Construct and install wooden frameworks, including poles, beams, and trusses, according to specifications.
- Measure, cut, and shape wood materials using hand tools and power tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine project requirements.
- Ensure structural integrity and compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and productivity.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on wooden structures as needed.
- Assist in training junior carpenters and apprentices in best practices and techniques.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Pole Framer or in a similar carpentry role.
- Strong knowledge of woodworking techniques, tools, and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Familiarity with relevant building codes and safety regulations.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.
- Certifications in carpentry or construction safety (preferred).
