Job Brief
As a Plumber Assistant, you will support experienced plumbers, pipefitters, and steamfitters by performing essential tasks that require less skill but are vital to the plumbing process. This entry-level position involves handling tools and materials, maintaining cleanliness at job sites, and assisting with plumbing installations and repairs. Responsibilities
- Assist plumbers by holding tools and materials required for plumbing tasks
- Prepare job sites by cleaning and organizing tools and equipment
- Support the installation and repair of plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and fittings
- Measure, cut, and assemble piping materials under the supervision of skilled plumbers
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment
- Transport tools and equipment to and from job sites
- Document work performed and report to lead plumbers on job progress
- Assist in troubleshooting plumbing issues and performing minor repairs
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Basic knowledge of plumbing systems and tools
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends if necessary
- Previous experience in a construction or labor-intensive role is a plus
- Possession of a valid driver’s license may be required
