Job Brief
As a Play Back Operator, you will be responsible for assembling and operating equipment to record, synchronize, mix, edit, and reproduce sound for various productions, including theater, film, television, podcasts, and sporting events. Responsibilities
- Operate audio recording and playback equipment to capture high-quality sound for live and recorded productions.
- Synchronize audio with video content to ensure seamless integration during playback.
- Edit and mix audio tracks to enhance the overall quality and clarity of sound.
- Collaborate with directors, producers, and other crew members to meet specific sound requirements for each production.
- Conduct sound checks and troubleshooting to ensure optimal audio performance before events.
- Maintain and manage audio equipment, ensuring proper functionality and scheduling regular maintenance.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in audio technology to enhance production quality.
- Assist in the development of sound design concepts and execution for various media formats.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Play Back Operator or in a similar role within sound production.
- Proficiency in using audio editing software (e.g., Pro Tools, Adobe Audition, Logic Pro).
- Strong knowledge of audio equipment and sound reinforcement systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
- Familiarity with sound design principles and techniques.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A degree in audio engineering, sound design, or a related field is preferred.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends, as required by production schedules.
