Job Brief
The Plastic Straightening Roll Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and tending to machinery that rolls plastic materials to form bends, beads, knurls, and plates, while also flattening, tempering, or reducing the gauge of the material. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of plastic processing techniques, excellent mechanical skills, and a commitment to maintaining quality standards. Experience in a manufacturing environment is required, along with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting.
Responsibilities
- Set up and adjust rolling machines to achieve specified product dimensions and tolerances.
- Operate machinery to roll, flatten, and temper plastic materials according to production requirements.
- Monitor machine operations for quality control, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting on rolling equipment to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate production records and report on operational performance metrics.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Train and mentor new operators on machine operation and safety practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in manufacturing or machine operation preferred.
- Proven experience as a Plastic Straightening Roll Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot machinery issues.
- Knowledge of plastic properties and processing techniques.
- Familiarity with safety and quality control standards in manufacturing.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime as needed.
