Job Brief

As a Pipe Layer, you will play a crucial role in the installation and maintenance of piping systems for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains. This position requires hands-on experience in trench grading, pipe positioning, and joint sealing, ensuring efficient water management and sanitation processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively on construction sites.

Responsibilities

  • Excavate and grade trenches or culverts to prepare for pipe installation.
  • Position and secure pipes in trenches to ensure proper alignment and slope.
  • Seal joints and connections to prevent leaks and ensure system integrity.
  • Collaborate with construction teams to follow project specifications and timelines.
  • Conduct quality checks on installed piping systems to confirm compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
  • Utilize tools and equipment, such as trenching machines and pipe cutters, effectively and safely.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in plumbing or construction is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a Pipe Layer or in a related construction role.
  • Strong understanding of piping systems and installation techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in construction environments.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.
