Job Brief
As a Pipe Layer, you will play a crucial role in the installation and maintenance of piping systems for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains. This position requires hands-on experience in trench grading, pipe positioning, and joint sealing, ensuring efficient water management and sanitation processes. Responsibilities
- Excavate and grade trenches or culverts to prepare for pipe installation.
- Position and secure pipes in trenches to ensure proper alignment and slope.
- Seal joints and connections to prevent leaks and ensure system integrity.
- Collaborate with construction teams to follow project specifications and timelines.
- Conduct quality checks on installed piping systems to confirm compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
- Utilize tools and equipment, such as trenching machines and pipe cutters, effectively and safely.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in plumbing or construction is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Pipe Layer or in a related construction role.
- Strong understanding of piping systems and installation techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in construction environments.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites.
