Job Brief

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) plays a vital role in the rehabilitation process by assisting licensed physical therapists in delivering effective physical therapy treatments and procedures. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow treatment plans. The ideal candidate will have formal training in physical therapy, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping patients achieve their mobility goals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients recovering from injuries or surgeries.
  • Conduct routine therapy sessions and document patient progress accurately.
  • Monitor patient responses to therapies and communicate changes to the supervising physical therapist.
  • Educate patients on exercises and proper usage of therapeutic equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the therapy environment and equipment.
  • Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
  • Modify specific treatments in accordance with patient status and treatment objectives, as directed by the physical therapist.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapy Assistant.
  • Strong knowledge of physical therapy modalities and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving patients.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and scheduling purposes.
  • Experience working in a clinical or rehabilitation setting is preferred.
