Job Brief
The Photovoltaic (PV) Installation Technician plays a crucial role in the renewable energy sector by assembling, installing, and maintaining solar photovoltaic systems on various structures. Responsibilities
- Assemble and install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems per site assessment and schematic specifications.
- Measure, cut, and assemble structural framing and solar modules efficiently.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of PV systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform minor electrical tasks, including current checks, under supervision or as per guidelines.
- Ensure all installations comply with local building codes and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers and other technicians to streamline installation processes.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Stay updated on advancements in solar technology and best installation practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in solar technology is preferred.
- Previous experience in solar PV installation or a related field is highly desirable.
- Understanding of electrical systems and basic electrical theory.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and best practices in solar installations.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Certification in solar PV installation (e.g., NABCEP) is a plus.
