Job Brief
The Photoengraver is responsible for formatting and proofing text and images submitted by designers and clients into high-quality finished pages suitable for printing. This role involves proficiency in digital and photo typesetting, as well as the production of printing plates. Responsibilities
- Format and proofread text and images for accuracy and quality before printing.
- Utilize digital and photo typesetting techniques to create visually appealing layouts.
- Produce printing plates using specialized equipment and software.
- Collaborate with designers and clients to ensure specifications are met.
- Maintain a high standard of quality control throughout the printing process.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in photoengraving technology.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Photoengraver or in a similar role within the graphic design or printing industry.
- Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
- Strong understanding of print production processes and color management.
- Attention to detail and a keen eye for design and layout.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teams.
- Experience with various printing techniques and materials.
- Certification or degree in Graphic Design, Print Production, or a related field is preferred.
