Job Brief
As a Pharmacist Assistant, you will support licensed pharmacists in delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care. This role involves accurately recording drugs delivered to the pharmacy, managing incoming merchandise, and maintaining inventory levels. Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills are essential, along with the ability to operate cash registers and assist customers with prescription filling.
Responsibilities
- Record and manage incoming pharmaceutical inventory and merchandise deliveries.
- Assist in the preparation and dispensing of prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Maintain accurate stock levels and inform the supervisor of any inventory shortages.
- Operate cash registers and process payment transactions for pharmacy customers.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and addressing concerns about medications.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the pharmacy environment.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work area, including pharmacy shelves and storage.
- Participate in training and development programs to enhance job knowledge and skills.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certification in pharmacy assistance is a plus.
- Previous experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to operate cash registers and handle financial transactions accurately.
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical terminology and medication types.
- Basic knowledge of computer systems and pharmacy management software.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
