Job Brief

As a Pet Sitter, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to pets, including dogs, cats, birds, and other animals. Your primary duties will involve feeding, grooming, exercising, and ensuring the overall well-being of pets in various settings such as private homes, kennels, and animal shelters. Ideal candidates should possess experience in animal care, strong communication skills, and a passion for ensuring the happiness and health of animals.

Responsibilities

  • Feed and provide fresh water to pets on a scheduled basis.
  • Groom and bathe pets to maintain hygiene and appearance.
  • Exercise pets regularly to promote physical health and well-being.
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by pet owners.
  • Monitor and record the health and behavior of pets during care.
  • Maintain cleanliness by cleaning, disinfecting, and repairing cages, pens, or fish tanks.
  • Provide companionship and attention to pets to ensure emotional well-being.
  • Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding care routines and any concerns.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification in pet care or animal behavior is a plus.
  • Previous experience in pet sitting, animal care, or related field preferred.
  • Strong understanding of animal behavior and basic training techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with pet owners.
  • Ability to lift and handle animals of various sizes safely.
  • Basic knowledge of pet health and nutrition.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
