Job Brief
The Pediatric Physician Assistant (PA) plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive healthcare services to children, working under the supervision of a licensed physician. This position entails conducting thorough physical examinations, diagnosing illnesses, administering treatments, and providing patient education. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive physical exams and health assessments for pediatric patients.
- Diagnose and treat common pediatric illnesses and injuries.
- Provide counseling and education to patients and their families regarding health maintenance and disease prevention.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests to facilitate accurate diagnoses.
- Administer vaccinations and other preventive health measures.
- Prescribe medications and manage treatment plans as permitted by state laws.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to optimize patient care.
- Document patient encounters and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with regulations.
Requirements
- Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- State licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills in pediatrics.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Basic life support (BLS) and pediatric advanced life support (PALS) certifications preferred.
- Experience in pediatric healthcare settings is highly desirable.
