Job Brief
As a PBX Operator, you will expertly manage telephone business systems and switchboards to facilitate the efficient relay of incoming, outgoing, and interoffice calls. Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain PBX systems and telephone switchboards to handle calls effectively.
- Answer and direct incoming calls to the appropriate personnel or departments.
- Facilitate outgoing calls and ensure clarity in communication.
- Provide information to callers regarding company services and procedures.
- Record and relay messages accurately to ensure prompt follow-up.
- Monitor call activity and maintain records of communications.
- Assist with troubleshooting telephone system issues and coordinate repairs as necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times while handling sensitive information.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a PBX Operator, receptionist, or within a similar role.
- Familiarity with telephone systems and switchboard operations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in using computer systems and office software.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on caller satisfaction.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in telecommunications is a plus.
