Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Paver Installer with experience in laying out, cutting, and placing segmental paving units. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of installation techniques for various paving materials, including concrete, brick, and stone. Key responsibilities include preparing the site, installing bedding and restraining materials, and ensuring a high-quality finish. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and level the installation site by removing debris and grading the ground.
- Measure and mark out areas for paving installation using appropriate tools.
- Cut and shape paving units to fit around curves, edges, and obstacles.
- Install bedding materials to create a stable foundation for paving units.
- Lay segmental paving units in designated patterns, ensuring proper alignment and spacing.
- Install restraining materials such as edging and joints to secure paving units.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure the integrity and aesthetic of the installation.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely project completion and adherence to safety standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in masonry or construction preferred.
- Proven experience as a Paver Installer or similar role in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of various paving materials and installation techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficient in using hand and power tools related to paving installation.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy materials and perform manual labor.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites as required.
