Job Brief

As a Patrol Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining public order and safety. This position involves enforcing local, tribal, state, or federal laws and ordinances to protect life and property. You will be responsible for patrolling designated areas, directing traffic, investigating accidents, and apprehending suspects. Ideal candidates will have a strong commitment to community service, effective communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure. Relevant experience in law enforcement or public safety is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols in assigned areas to deter and detect criminal activity.
  • Enforce traffic laws and regulations by directing traffic and issuing citations.
  • Investigate accidents and prepare detailed reports on findings.
  • Apprehend and arrest suspects in accordance with legal procedures.
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide assistance in crisis situations.
  • Engage with community members to promote safety and build trust.
  • Testify in court regarding arrests and incidents as required.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of incidents and activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college education in criminal justice is preferred.
  • Completion of a police academy training program.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Strong physical fitness and ability to pass a background check.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of local laws, regulations, and community resources.
  • First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
