Job Brief
As a Pathology Laboratory Technologist, you will play a critical role in the healthcare system by performing complex medical laboratory tests essential for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced medical laboratory tests and analyses on biological specimens to assist in diagnostics.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Interpret test results and provide accurate reports in a timely manner to healthcare providers.
- Adhere to safety protocols and quality control measures to maintain laboratory standards.
- Train and supervise junior staff and laboratory technicians in laboratory procedures and techniques.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to discuss findings and improve patient outcomes.
- Document and maintain records of laboratory procedures, test results, and quality control data.
- Stay updated on advancements in pathology techniques and best practices in laboratory medicine.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MT) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical pathology laboratory setting.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory instrumentation, testing methodologies, and quality assurance protocols.
- Proficiency in laboratory information systems and electronic health records (EHR).
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail in test procedures and results.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with healthcare professionals and team members.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work efficiently under pressure.
