Job Brief

We are seeking a talented and creative Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. Responsibilities

  • Prepare, bake, and decorate a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts to create visually appealing and delicious menu items.
  • Oversee the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of pastries and desserts, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish.
  • Plan and design seasonal dessert menus that cater to customer preferences and enhance the dining experience.
  • Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain accurate records of ingredient usage and costs.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in pastry techniques and best practices, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Monitor and uphold food safety and sanitation practices in compliance with health regulations.
  • Experiment with new recipes and techniques to continuously improve the dessert offerings and stay current with industry trends.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role within a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of pastry techniques and baking methods, including chocolate work and sugar artistry.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ability to creatively design and execute dessert presentations that align with restaurant themes.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage kitchen staff.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience in pastry arts is preferred.
