Job Brief
As a Parcel Truck Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating a light vehicle, such as a truck or van, to pick up and deliver packages from our distribution center to designated locations. This role demands a high level of attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and the ability to load and unload merchandise efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and relevant experience in transportation or logistics.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a light truck or van for package delivery and pick-up.
- Load and unload parcels efficiently while adhering to safety guidelines.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and ensure timely completion of routes.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies during transportation.
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues promptly to management.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns during deliveries.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or appropriate driver’s license.
- Proven experience as a truck driver or in a related delivery role.
- Strong knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations.
- Ability to lift packages weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with GPS and route planning software.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
