Job Brief
As a Parachute Repairer, you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of parachutes and related equipment to ensure safety and functionality. This role requires attention to detail, technical expertise, and the ability to work with various materials and tools. Responsibilities
- Inspect parachutes and related gear for wear, damage, and compliance with safety regulations.
- Perform repairs on parachute canopies, harnesses, and deployment devices using industrial sewing machines and hand stitching techniques.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and inspections to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to conduct thorough testing of repaired equipment.
- Stay updated with industry standards and safety regulations regarding parachute maintenance and repair.
- Provide training and guidance to junior staff on repair techniques and safety practices.
- Manage inventory of repair materials and ensure the workshop is organized and equipped.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in textile repair or related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a parachute repairer or in a similar maintenance role.
- Strong understanding of materials used in parachute construction, including nylon and other fabrics.
- Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines and hand tools specific to parachute repair.
- Knowledge of aviation safety standards and best practices in parachute maintenance.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
