Job Brief
The Overhead Door Technician is responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing various automatic door mechanisms, including hydraulic doors and garage door systems. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience in the door service industry and possess excellent customer service skills to ensure client satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair automatic door mechanisms and hydraulic door systems.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs on overhead doors and garage door systems.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal functionality of door systems.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns professionally.
- Document service and repair activities accurately for record-keeping and warranty purposes.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations while working on various door installations and repairs.
- Collaborate with team members and provide technical support as needed.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in door installation and repair.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in mechanical systems is preferred.
- Proven experience as an overhead door technician or in a related mechanical field.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of electrical systems as they relate to automatic doors.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Certified Door Technician (CDT) or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation.
