Job Brief
We are seeking a skilled Overhead Crane Operator to effectively operate mechanical boom and cable or tower and cable equipment for lifting and moving materials, machines, or products in various directions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of safety protocols and possess the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
- Operate overhead cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials and machinery.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of cranes and associated equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
- Follow safety protocols and procedures to minimize risk and ensure compliance with industry regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to strategize and execute efficient lifting operations.
- Monitor load limits and ensure safe lifting practices are maintained at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of daily operations, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies and industry standards for safety and quality control.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of crane operator training program preferred.
- Valid crane operator certification or license as required by state or local regulations.
- Proven experience operating overhead cranes in a manufacturing or construction environment.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to crane operation.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness skills.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform lifting and moving tasks safely.
