Job Brief
As an Orthopedic Physician Assistant, you will provide exceptional healthcare services under the supervision of a physician, focusing on diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal conditions. You will conduct comprehensive physical examinations, develop treatment plans, counsel patients on their health management, and may have the ability to prescribe medications. Responsibilities
- Perform detailed physical examinations and assess patient health history.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for orthopedic conditions.
- Assist in surgical procedures and provide pre-operative and post-operative care.
- Educate patients on orthopedic health, rehabilitation, and preventive care strategies.
- Prescribe medications and manage patient prescriptions when applicable.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
Requirements
- Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Active state licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant.
- Knowledge of orthopedic procedures and treatment modalities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interaction.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Experience in orthopedic clinical settings is preferred.
