Job Brief

The Optical Astronomer is responsible for observing, researching, and interpreting astronomical phenomena to enhance our understanding of the universe and address practical challenges. Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed observations of celestial objects using optical telescopes and imaging systems.

Requirements

  • Experience with astronomical data collection and interpretation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Familiarity with astronomical databases and software tools (e.g., IRAF, DS9).
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
  • Demonstrated publication record in peer-reviewed journals is preferred.
