Job Brief
As an Oil Refiner, you will operate and control petroleum refining and processing units, ensuring the efficient and safe production of refined petroleum products. This role requires expertise in managing manifold and pumping systems, as well as testing and gauging oil in storage tanks. Candidates should possess strong technical skills and experience in pipeline flow regulation, contributing to the overall success of the refining process.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor petroleum refining equipment to optimize production efficiency.
- Control manifold and pumping systems for the distribution of crude oil and refined products.
- Perform regular gauging and testing of oil in storage tanks to ensure quality and compliance with industry standards.
- Regulate the flow of oil into pipelines, maintaining accurate flow rates and pressure levels.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on refining machinery to prevent downtime.
- Collaborate with safety teams to adhere to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Document operational data and report anomalies to management for timely resolution.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in refining technology to enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field preferred.
- Proven experience in oil refining operations, with a strong understanding of refinery processes.
- Familiarity with manifold and pumping system controls, as well as oil testing procedures.
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations in the petroleum industry.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot operational issues effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with attention to detail.
- Relevant certifications in petroleum processing or safety protocols are a plus.
- Proficient in using industry-standard software and monitoring systems for refining operations.
