Job Brief
The Oil Field Equipment Mechanic Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of mechanics, installers, and repairers within the oil and gas industry. This role requires a strong background in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair, along with exceptional leadership and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in mechanical systems, ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely while advising customers on recommended services.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the mechanics, installers, and repairers to ensure optimal performance and safety standards.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of oil field equipment to identify and resolve mechanical issues promptly.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and best practices to promote a safe working environment.
- Train and mentor team members on technical skills and equipment operation.
- Collaborate with management to develop maintenance schedules and inventory control processes for spare parts and tools.
- Advise customers on equipment service needs and recommend appropriate repairs or upgrades.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards related to equipment maintenance and safety.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in mechanical systems preferred.
- Proven experience as a mechanic or technician in the oil and gas industry, with supervisory experience highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems related to oil field equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and leadership skills to manage a diverse team.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and maintenance best practices in the oil and gas sector.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites as required.
