Job Brief
As an Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST), you will play a crucial role in promoting workplace safety by collecting and analyzing data on work environments. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of workplace environments to identify potential health and safety risks.
- Collect and analyze data related to workplace incidents, hazards, and employee health.
- Implement safety programs and policies to mitigate risks and enhance worker safety.
- Collaborate with occupational health and safety specialists to evaluate the effectiveness of safety initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and compliance audits.
- Provide training and education to employees on safety practices and emergency procedures.
- Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in occupational health and safety.
- Assist in the development of ergonomic assessments and recommendations for workplace design improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Certification as an Occupational Health and Safety Technologist (OHST) preferred.
- Proven experience in occupational health and safety assessments and program implementation.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse teams.
- Proficiency in data analysis software and safety management systems.
- Ability to conduct training sessions and workshops on health and safety topics.
