Job Brief
As a Nutrition Technician, you will assist in the delivery of food service and nutritional programs under the guidance of a registered dietitian. Your primary responsibilities will include meal planning and production based on established dietary guidelines, educating individuals on the principles of nutrition, and providing counseling to promote healthy eating habits. This role requires a strong understanding of nutrition science, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare or food service setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of meal plans according to dietary requirements and guidelines.
- Educate clients on nutritional practices, healthy eating, and lifestyle choices.
- Conduct nutritional assessments and monitor dietary compliance.
- Collaborate with dietitians to modify meal plans and enhance nutritional programs.
- Prepare and produce meals in accordance with food safety standards and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of dietary intake and client progress.
- Provide support and guidance to clients during counseling sessions.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and research in nutrition and food service.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Certification as a Nutrition Technician (C.N.T.) or equivalent preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Experience with meal planning and preparation in a healthcare or food service environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using nutrition analysis software and databases.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Familiarity with dietary guidelines and nutritional standards.
