Job Brief

The Numerical Tool Programmer is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing programs that control the machining or processing of materials using automated machine tools and systems. This role requires a solid understanding of CNC programming, machining processes, and equipment operation. Successful candidates will possess a strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain CNC programs for various machining operations using G-code and M-code.
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machines to ensure optimal performance and precision.
  • Analyze and optimize machining processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to understand product specifications and design requirements.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and calibration of CNC equipment to ensure operational integrity.
  • Train and support operators in the proper use and programming of CNC machinery.
  • Document programming procedures and maintain records of production runs.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in CNC technology and programming techniques.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Numerical Tool Programmer or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages (G-code, M-code) and software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks).
  • Experience with setup and operation of CNC lathes, mills, and other machine tools.
  • Technical degree or certification in machining technology, manufacturing engineering, or a related field.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Familiarity with quality control standards and practices in machining.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
