Job Brief
The Numerical Control Machine Operator is responsible for operating computer-controlled tools and machines to process parts, tools, and other workpieces made from various materials, including metal, plastic, wood, and stone. This role requires a strong understanding of CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programming, machine setup, and maintenance. Ideal candidates will possess technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications. Responsibilities
- Operate CNC machines, including lathes, mills, and routers, to manufacture precision components.
- Set up and calibrate machines, ensuring proper alignment and functionality for optimal production.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
- Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment to minimize downtime.
- Monitor machine operations and adjust settings as necessary to achieve desired specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct quality inspections of finished products using measuring tools and gauges.
- Document production processes, machine settings, and any deviations from standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve workflow and efficiency in manufacturing processes.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in machining or CNC operation preferred.
- Proven experience as a CNC Machine Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code.
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and CNC machine setup.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Knowledge of safety standards and practices in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
