Job Brief
The Night Stocker plays a crucial role in ensuring the timely availability of merchandise and materials within a retail or warehouse setting. Responsibilities
- Receive and verify incoming merchandise and materials against invoices and packing slips.
- Store items in designated locations within the stockroom or warehouse to optimize space and accessibility.
- Issue merchandise to fill customer orders and ensure timely replenishment of sales displays.
- Operate power equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, to efficiently move stock as needed.
- Mark prices on merchandise and assist in setting up promotional sales displays to attract customers.
- Maintain a clean and organized stockroom, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Conduct regular inventory checks to monitor stock levels and report discrepancies to management.
- Collaborate with team members to enhance operational efficiency and improve customer service.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
- Proven experience in stockroom, warehouse, or retail environments preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
- Ability to operate power equipment safely, with relevant certifications as required.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate inventory records.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy items, as this role may involve manual labor.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts and weekends as needed to meet operational demands.
