Job Brief

The Nickel Plater is responsible for setting up, operating, and tending plating machines to coat metal or plastic products with nickel or other metals. This role requires proficiency in handling electrolytic solutions and molten metals to ensure high-quality surface protection and decoration. Successful candidates will possess hands-on experience in metal finishing processes, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to follow safety protocols in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and calibrate plating machines for optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Operate plating equipment to apply nickel and other metal coatings to various substrates.
  • Monitor plating processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
  • Inspect finished products for surface quality, thickness, and adherence of coatings.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on plating machines to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of production, including batch numbers and material usage.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and best practices to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve plating processes and product quality.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in plating or metal finishing is a plus.
  • Proven experience in nickel plating or similar metal coating processes.
  • Knowledge of electrolytic plating techniques and equipment operation.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulations in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
