Job Brief

The Newspaper Carrier is responsible for delivering newspapers to homes and businesses in a designated area, ensuring timely and accurate distribution. Familiarity with local routes and effective customer service skills are essential for success in this role. Previous experience in delivery services or sales is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver newspapers to designated locations promptly and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries and customer subscriptions.
  • Collect payments from customers and manage invoicing processes.
  • Engage with customers to promote subscription renewals and additional services.
  • Report any delivery issues or customer complaints to management immediately.
  • Ensure the safe handling and transportation of newspapers to prevent damage.
  • Follow local traffic and safety regulations while on the road.
  • Perform basic administrative tasks, including keeping logs of deliveries and payments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in delivery or sales is a plus.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions and payments.
  • Physical stamina to carry and deliver newspapers in various weather conditions.
