Job Brief
The Network Technician is responsible for analyzing, testing, troubleshooting, and evaluating existing network systems, including local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and cloud networks. This role requires strong technical expertise in network maintenance to ensure continuous operation with minimal downtime. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with network configuration, monitoring tools, and a solid understanding of data communications principles.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and evaluate network systems to identify performance issues and recommend improvements.
- Troubleshoot network problems and provide effective solutions to ensure optimal network performance.
- Perform regular maintenance and upgrades on LAN, WAN, and cloud networks to prevent service interruptions.
- Monitor network traffic and usage to maintain security and efficiency.
- Document network configurations and updates for compliance and operational continuity.
- Assist in the implementation of new network technologies and protocols.
- Collaborate with IT teams to support network-related projects and initiatives.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users on network-related issues.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Network Technician or similar role in network management.
- Strong knowledge of networking technologies, protocols, and tools (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
- Hands-on experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds).
- Familiarity with network security practices and firewalls.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA) preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical staff.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
