Job Brief
As a Network Designer, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing robust computer and information networks, including local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, and extranets. You will be responsible for performing network modeling, analysis, and capacity planning, ensuring efficient data communications and optimal network performance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in network infrastructure design and security measures, along with relevant experience in researching and recommending network hardware and software solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable and secure local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN).
- Conduct network modeling and performance analysis to assess capacity requirements.
- Develop and document network architecture and configuration specifications.
- Evaluate and recommend network hardware and software solutions to enhance performance.
- Implement network security measures to protect data integrity and accessibility.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network alignment with organizational goals.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to maintain optimal operations.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in network design and implementation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in network design and implementation, with a strong understanding of LAN/WAN technologies.
- Familiarity with network security protocols and best practices.
- Proficiency in network modeling and performance analysis tools.
- Experience with routing and switching technologies, including Cisco or Juniper platforms.
- Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or CompTIA Network+ are preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
