Responsibilities
- Conduct guided tours for individuals and groups, showcasing exhibitions and collections.
- Provide detailed information and context about artworks, artifacts, and historical exhibits.
- Engage visitors with interactive storytelling to enhance their understanding and appreciation of the museum’s offerings.
- Answer visitor questions and address any concerns regarding the exhibits or museum services.
- Collaborate with museum staff to develop and improve tour content and visitor engagement strategies.
- Maintain knowledge of current exhibitions, special events, and museum policies.
- Assist in the training of new guides and volunteers as needed.
- Promote museum programs and events while encouraging visitor participation.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a museum guide, tour guide, or in a similar role.
- Strong verbal communication and public speaking skills.
- Knowledge of art history, cultural heritage, and museum practices.
- Ability to engage and connect with a diverse audience of all ages.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly demeanor.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Certification in museum studies or a related field is a plus.
- Proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.
